Considering the increasing relevance of digital media and the claim to also strengthen digitalisation-related competences in didactic contexts, the incorporation of computer mediated communication in corpus-based lessons seems reasonable and productive. A digital resource and multilingual discourse space which offers versatile possibilities of investigation, especially for learners of German as a Foreign or as a Second Language, is the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. Therefore, this article points out the didactic potential of corpus-based discourse analyses on Wikipedia. Two didactic scenarios are outlined that represent problem- and reflection-oriented teaching of German as a Foreign or as a Second Language. Both aim to make learners understand discourse-relevant terms and metaphors more deeply, including their discourse-specific context of use as well as their meta-linguistic negotiation in particular, in order to create language awareness and sensitivity.
