Abstract:

Alternative AbstractLanguage

This work contributes to further development of control strategies of wind turbines with single-blade adjustment. It concentrates on the design of a lidar-based feedforward control and a transparent, reliable analysis of its potential as an alternative to feedback control based on blade root load measurements. The feedforward control is setup as a disturbance compensation to compensate rotor effective wind field variables, among them horizontal and vertical yawed inflow. To study the turbine behaviour in yawed inflow a model of the skewed wake effect is necessary. The effect is parameterized by means of measurement data of a real turbine. Besides the development of a suitable design model based on BEM-theory and a linear feedforward control, particular emphasis of this work is on the generation of an adequate simulation environment including realistic lidar measurement chain. Furthermore a practicable individual pitch feedback control is designed and validated on a simulated and a real turbine.
