Abstract:

Die Corona-Pandemie stellte (und stellt) Hochschulen weltweit vor große Herausforderungen. So musste im März 2020 die University of Sydney innerhalb weniger Tage Möglichkeiten, Ansätze und Konzepte zur Aufrechterhaltung des Lehrbetriebs erarbeiten. Die Einstellung des Präsenzunterrichts führte zur Verlagerung des Lehr- und Lernangebots in die vollständig onlinebasierte Lehre. Dieser Umstand zwang viele Lehrkräfte, sich tiefgründiger mit Distance- bzw. Online-Learning zu beschäftigen. Inzwischen dürfte die Onlinelehre zu einem der weltweit größten Experimente im Bereich Bildung gehören. Der vorliegende Beitrag berichtet über Erfahrungen aus der universitären Unterrichtspraxis im Kontext Deutsch als Fremdsprache.

The corona pandemic has posed and continues to pose significant challenges for tertiary education institutions worldwide. In March 2020, the University of Sydney had just a few days in which to develop options, approaches and concepts for the continuation of its teaching activities during lockdown. The suspension of face-to-face teaching lead to a transition of the curriculum to completely online instruction. These circumstances forced many teaching staff to engage more intensively with distance and online learning. Online instruction during this period may well constitute one of the greatest worldwide experiments in the field of education. This contribution reports on experiences in university teaching practice in the context of German as a foreign language.
