Bio-inspired Open Ball Joint with Intra-Articular Force Sensors

Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
The study presents the instrumented open joint system inspired by biological intra-articular mechanoreceptors for dislocation prevention and recovery. The proposed system features compressive load cells beneath the socket part to measure the center of pressure just like foot-sole sensors. The dynamics simulation evaluated the feasibility of the proposed approach. The simulation demonstrated that the sensors output the center of pressure during joint movement.
