Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

The way for the future for automotive lighting will be the introduction of digital lighting functions. This means that many basic functionalities are pre-installed in hardware and are only brought to life by software - activated for example through updates or subsequent purchases - characteristics can be changed - parameters can be adapted to individual customer needs, various regional laws can be considered. To make this possible, new approaches to lighting hardware (light modules, displays, etc.) must be developed. The lecture is intended to show what possibilities, particularly in lighting technology, would be possible for the digital vehicle of the future. Digital lighting functions that increase safety and digital features that improve driver comfort and well-being. The presentation attempts to cover this broad spectrum and provide suggestions for possible developments and collaborations. As a member of the LG Group, ZKW has the opportunity to exploit the full potential of the large consumer electronics group. We would like to point out the opportunities but also the challenges that arise from this. How can or could consumer electronics and automobiles come together? What are the challenges since they are completely different business areas? There is great potential in bringing these different business areas closer together. Both as Tier 1 and as OEM.
