Abstract: | Surfactants are not a recent invention required for new technologies, but people have been using them from the early stages of civilisation, for example, in ancient Egypt and Greece. There was no significant progress in the development of detergents for thousands of years until modern chemistry initiated the production of synthetic surfactants. Today, surfactants are present all around us and our daily life would not function as it does without them. This new book on surfactants will therefore be essential reading for those who work with surfactants. |
