Abstract:

Alternative AbstractLanguage

Subject of this thesis is the synthesis and application of helically-chiral polyarylisonitriles as organocatalysts in asymmetric Michael-reactions. By functionalization of amino acid based monomer structures with catalytically active thiourea- or squaramide centers, it was possible to synthesize various H-bond-donating organocatalysts. Different homo- and copolymers were synthesized and analyzed regarding their catalytic potential in asymmetric Michael-reactions between nitrostyrenes and 2,4-pentanedione. Enantiomeric excesses up to 23% ee were obtained, mainly derived from the presence of the helical backbone. It was found that the accessibility of the catalytic centers plays a crucial role in the conceptual polymerdesign. The general suitability of helically-chiral polyarylisonitriles as H-bond-donating organocatalysts could be demonstrated.
