Abstract:

The aim of this work is design and implementation of a haptic assistance system for extracorporeal force-feedback of endovascular contact forces. In this work the system behavior of open-loop and closed-loop impedance control strategies for haptic assistance systems are described by network theory. Choosing a closed-loop impedance control strategy for the assistance system, requirements for system components are defined and well adapted system components for the haptic assistance system are designed. A miniaturized haptic display is designed to generate a force-feedback signal which is coupled onto a guidewire. For the measurement of the force-feedback the cardiologist perceives an extracorporeal force sensor is designed. Measurements show that the designed and realized haptic assistance system can generate forces up to 1N with a bandwidth of DC up to 135 Hz.
