Abstract: | We report on our recent nuclear resonance fluorescence experiments on ¹⁵²,¹⁵⁴,¹⁵⁶Gd. Decay branches of the scissors mode to intrinsic excitations are observed. They are interpreted as a new signature for a spherical-to-deformed nuclear shape phase transition. |
