The place of work in the passenger car includes the passenger compartment, especially the driver cockpit with the man-vehicle interfaces. The driver has to fulfil both his primary task (i.e. vehicle guidance) and secondary tasks (e.g., operating driver support systems). For designing this place of work a series of rules and regulations has to be considered.
