3D-BioScreenPrint: A novel bioprinting approach for high scale production of cultured meat-resembling multi-layered bioink sheets
Solutions in the context of climate change were presented at the conference "Material Innovations for Climate Neutral Food and Agriculture". This conference article is about a novel 3D bioprinting process, "3D-BioScreenPrint", that is based on traditional screen printing and could be used to produce cultured meat. It aims to solve one of the biggest problems in the field: Large-scale production. Cultured meat is seen as part of the "food revolution" and has high potential to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, land use, water consumption and energy use caused by conventional livestock farming, and increase animal welfare.
