„Wer gegen Atomkraft ist, ist gegen Klimaschutz“: Eine Argumentationsanalyse der Debatte zur Laufzeitverlängerung der Atomkraft im deutschen Bundestag
With the beginning of the Russian-Ukraine conflict in February 2022 the German energy supply faced major challenges. One of the most disputed solutions obtains the term extension of the three last nuclear power plants. With the attack of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Saporischschja a new evaluation of nuclear power and its dangers was needed. The controversy of nuclear power and its advantages and disadvantages was discussed in German parliament over a long time. In the end an extension of term until 15th April 2023 was legislated. This paper traces the argumentation about nuclear power in parliamentary debate. The question to be asked here is whether and in what way eco-political arguments are relevant in the conflict of term extensions. The study has shown that lots of arguments are used to point out its cuts in both ways. However eco-political arguments are profoundly important. They are often embedded in typical political strategies of convincing, e. g. in showing the best image of the own party or person.
