This work treats the numerical computation of different types of transition important in turbomachinery flows. These are the "bypass-transition", the "transition in a separated shear layer" and the " wake-induced transition". Two programs offering different extended two-equation turbulence models are used and their ability to predict onset and length of the transition is investigated.
The transition ois influenced by many parameters. Those parameters - the Reynolds number, the turbulence intensity, the pressure gradient, the influence of the leading edge as well as the influence of stationary wakes - are variied in different test cases and the results of the numerical computation are compared to experiments.
The following conclusions can be drawn:
