Abstract:

Abstract

Fine solids with grain size between 0,45 μm and 63 μm are referred to as AFS63 (PM63) and are a measure for the degree of the contamination of rainfall runoffs. They lead to a colmation of the waterway beds and transport high quantities of pollutants because of their high specific surface area. Currently there are still very few studies on their appearance and contaminant transport. In this thesis, the present knowledge about the occurrence and composition of both, AFS and AFS63, is summarized. The Transport of pollutants by AFS63 is illuminated. The AFS63 are introduced as the new reference parameter for material verification in the new guideline DWA-A 102/BWK-A 3. The purpose of this project was to apply the specified regulations of the DWA-A 102/BWK-A 3 onto a realistic catchment area. The emission and immission verifications in accordance with the new guideline are carried out on the case study Kirdorf which is a district of Bad Homburg. The changes made in the geographic information system programm ArcGIS are shown. Based on these changes, the pollution simulation model SMUSI 6.1 is used for the emission verification, while an Excel sheet is used for immission verification. The verifications for both considerations are provided. Previous verifications used the COD parameter for pollution in waters which are compared to the new AFS63 parameter. Compatibility of COD with AFS63 can be determined for this case.
