Abstract:

Alternative AbstractLanguage

The thesis deals with the establishment of a Vinyl-Rhodium-catalyzed polymerization method for a controlled synthesis of amino acid-functionalized polyphenylacetylenes. Based on this reaction four topics were discussed: Amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized for potential asymmetric micellar catalysis. The helical stability of valine-functionalized polyphenylacetylenes with various alkyl chain lengths was analyzed by CD- and 2H-NMR-spectroscopy. Tert-Butyl-functionalized polymer end groups were synthesized for potential determination of polymer chain lengths by 1H-NMR-spectroscopy and the last topic deals with scale-up polymerization reactions of valine-, phenylalanine-, aspartic acid- and glutamic acid-functionalized phenylacetylenes by using the Vinyl-Rhodium polymerization method and the study of their alignment properties.
