Abstract:

Alternative AbstractLanguage

This thesis contributes to the understanding of different reactions of complex organic molecules with modern NMR spectroscopy. The influence of molecular flexibility on the choice of the appropriate method or combination of methods is discussed on a number of examples.

In this thesis, several successes were achieved. First, the accuracy and applicability of the NOE and RDC-analysis was significantly improved. Second, it was possible to demonstrate the complementarity of the NOE and RDC analysis on different examples. Third, by this means various complicated structure elucidation problems were solved whereby different structure-reactivity relationships could be determined. These studies incorporated examples of three classes of organic synthesis: photoreactions, catalyzed reactions and synthesis products.
