Abstract:

The aim of this work was to develop an analytical calculation software for induction machines with squirrel cages. The calculation should model all effects in the machine by means of well known existing theories up to now. An important point is to get a close-to-reality calculation of the magnetic fields in the airgap, in the tooth tips and in the tooth bodies together with their specific saturation effects, which are expressed by saturation factors or equivalent airgaps. The slot openings are also considered by means of different methods. These methods are applied in the program according to their reasonable use at different positions, but at some points the program user may choose between them as an extra feature. An additional focus is the calculation of the additional losses at line operation. For this reason one chapter is dedicated to the topic of iron losses and the topic of deterioration of magnetic properties of steel sheets by manufacturing. Then the calculation of the additional losses is presented in the form of pulsation losses in the teeth bodies and in the yoke, surface losses in the teeth tips, losses by interbar currents, losses by current harmonics in the rotor cage as well as losses in the conductive housing. For calculation of the induction motor with a voltage-source frequency converter with pulsewidth modulated output voltage the treatment starts with the harmonic spectrum of the output voltage as motor supply voltage. The space vector modulation is used as method for the pulse width modulation. With this technique three phase harmonic voltage systems as positive, negative or zero sequence systems can appear. The so caused additional losses in the machine are calculated by means of superposition, the saturation factors are essentially determined by the fundamental voltage system. Other short chapters give an overview of the secundary armature reaction as well as the ripple torque. The calculation software ‚KLASYS05’ is based on the Fortran software ‚KLASYS’ from TU Vienna (Ph. D. Thesis Prof. Binder, Diploma thesis from Dipl.-Ing. Stefan, Dipl.-Ing. Bauhofer, Dipl.-Ing. Elkner), which was rewritten, expanded and actualized in this work. A relational database (MS Access©) serves as the database, consisting of the subdatabase ‚Motoren.mdb’ with the detail table ‚Motor’ and the master tables ‚Statorblech’ and ‚Rotorblech’ and the subdatabase ‚Elektroblech.mdb’, which contains the specific values of laminated steel. The software runs in the 32 bit operating system Windows© (since version XP). The results have been tested by means of approximately 40 sample machines. The results are satisfying and in good conformity with the measurement results.
