Abstract:

Effective catalyst recovery is one of the most important topics in homogeneous catalysis today. In this work, phosphine ligands being covalently linked to a soluble support were applied to liquid-liquid biphasic catalysis in the Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira-type coupling giving excellent yields with arylchlorides/bromides and 1-alkynes over at least 5 catalytic cycles. High turn over frequencies (tof) were observed with only small loss of catalytic activity through consecutive cycles. Catalyst leaching into the product was also found to be negligible (<0,05 %).
