Abstract:

Alternative AbstractLanguage

In context of a research project measurements on a big industrial radial fan were executed. At four different rotational speeds (400 rpm, 550 rpm, 750 rpm, 980 rpm) the characteristic diagram, the velocity distribution in the in- and outlet by 5-hole-probes and Prandtl-probes and the pressure distribution in the impeller side chamber were measured. The results of the measurements are the base for deriving a scale-up formula for efficiency and pressure coefficient, which depends on fluid dynamical relations and incorporates the geometric and aerodynamic characteristics of radial fans.
