Abstract:

This doctoral thesis has the primary objective of improving knowledge management in exposed concrete technology. This is divided into two objectives, the further development of the processes for the production of exposed concrete components by gaining knowledge in exposed concrete technology and the development of a knowledge management for the exposed concrete technology to improve the structuring, preservation and provision of knowledge. With the aim of gaining knowledge, the core process of construction of exposed concrete components is to be improved for all project participants. In addition, knowledge is to be generated to improve the upstream process of work preparation and the downstream process of building inspections. For this purpose, it is necessary first to map the state of research and to identify the resulting knowledge gaps, then to pursue selected research projects for knowledge acquisition. The aim is to identify new cause-and-effect relationships and to document unknown work systems for the further development of processes for the production of exposed concrete components. The additional determination of effort values should enable better planning and calculation of components with requirements for appearance. The development of checklists for monitoring the processes in the production of exposed concrete components is intended to support quality management in its execution. With the development of a knowledge management for exposed concrete technology, the existing knowledge and the additional findings gained in the context of research are to be structured and conserved in the topic of exposed concrete technology for effective and efficient use. For this purpose, an analysis is first required to determine the requirements for a knowledge management system for exposed concrete technology. Subsequently, a modular knowledge management system is developed, which can be assembled according to the individual requirements of the various construction companies and provides the knowledge for use. In addition, an ontology for exposed concrete technology is being developed as a scientific approach to structuring knowledge and improving rediscovery.
